Instead of let the uses select the bgcolor hWhy not let the user set a different gtk theme for the panel (eg:GTK2_RC_FILES=)? This would be a lot cleaner solution than all those current hacks in gtk themes
This makes very little sense. If you want you can easily add the panel theming from another theme.
