Issue: Before editing an important file, it is usually good practice first to make a copy. In Thunar, copying a file within a given folder can only be performed through copy + paste. Copy + paste, however, overwrites the clipboard which may contain valuable information still to be used later. The Nemo file manager and the Nautilus file manager, amongst others, also allow CTRL + drag to copy a file within any given folder. CTRL + drag does not write to the clipboard. (Thunar thus far only facilitates CTRL + drag between two different folders.) Solution: Add CTRL + drag functionality to copy files within a folder to Thunar.
I confirm this on Ubuntu Studio 14.10. $ thunar --version Thunar 1.6.3 (Xfce 4.10)
