Hello

Is there a setting to determine the order in which files are copied (alphabetically)? So far it seems to happen either from A to Z or from Z to A, or sometimes even randomly.

Best regards.

Sorry for the very late reply ! Thunar was lacking a maintainer for long time.

No, there is no such thing to determine the order.

What is the reason for which you want to know the order ? (the actual problem)

I am guessing you want to control which file(s) are copied first, if they are big in size ?

Since Bug #16685 it is possible to pause copy/move operations . possible that would be sufficient for your use-case ?

Response from Benoit Castello :

I just took a try for thunar master, and thunar 1.6.x branch:
The copy order always is the same like the sort order. Actually that makes sense to me :)

Just select "Sort by Name", and you will be fine.
