The in theory infinite scrolling is capped to 5.000.000 aprox, that isn infinite and even set that vaue and close the config window make at next open recapped at 1.000.000 intead of 5.000.000

so here the issue is maximum more tha 1.500.000 fo scrolling is ignored and resetted to 1.000.000

and the theoretical inifinte is caped to 5.000.000 but that canot by used due to previous comment

Yes, the input field limits the value to 1048576.
However, the "unlimited scrollback" option has been added so there's probably no need of setting huge numbers here.
