With a maximized terminal window, attempt to open a new tab via <ctrl-t>. Most of the time, the terminal window shudders as though its refreshing to display the new terminal but no new terminal is opened.

This does not happen if the terminal window is *not* maximized.

I've tested this on 3 different machines with different display h/w and different monitor configurations with no change noted.

I can't see how to get any good debug out of xfce4-terminal, but I'm willing to play around if possible

Once a second tab is opened, there is no more failures to open new tabs. I suspect something in the resizing code is tripping over itself.
