Just today, the reading stayed at 7% with the adapter online(3hrs 3 minutes until fully charge), yet my battery is charging, I charged it for about 2 hours, when I unplug the power adapter then it says "System is running on battery power, left is 5 minutes. I've done everything from cleaning the metal components of the laptop/battery and even drained the Lithium ext. battery 9 cell that I have and try to re-charge it. The display still states '7%' or '5 minutes left' .. yet it runs as much as I have been charging it. So I figured it would be a bug on xfce side.. I have the Linux Mint 16 Olivia deb, my laptop is a IBM Lenovo Thinkpad..and this is a brand new Lithium 9 cell ext. battery(less then a week old) Everything was working fine this whole week until today, I even tried rebooting.

This is likely a bug in upower or your battery is simply dying. Either way, it isn't a bug in xfpm.
