I have built xfce4-terminal (indepently from the rest of Xfce) and I get this error when launching it:
xfce4-terminal: error while loading shared libraries: libxfce4util.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

But I do have this library:
pierre@Rudloff:~/Bureau/xfce4-terminal-0.6.2$ locate libxfce4util.so.6
/usr/local/lib/libxfce4util.so.6
/usr/local/lib/libxfce4util.so.6.0.0
