When I have virtual workspaces in several rows, e.g. 2x2, and my workspace-switcher-plugin on my panel is set to show the names of the workspaces, not the miniature-preview (sorry, don't know exact english term), this bug happens: Though the workspace-switcher-panelplugin shows the workspaces in the correct way (2x2), I can not switch them correctly via keyboard-shortcut. I can not go <UP> and <DOWN>, but only <LEFT> and <RIGHT>, as if the four workspaces were all arranged in a single line. This happens everytime I reboot my PC. If I then rightclick the panelplugin, select and immediately deselect "show miniature-preview", from then on it works like it should.
Moving to the workspace switcher plugin.
I don't know if this helps, but I have found that vertical switching also works once a new "Workspace Switcher" is added and switched to have 2+ rows.
Ah, I see. Before enabling the previews, I had two rows, but could only move windows to different workspaces by "passing" them across the left or right workspace edges, which makes no logical sense. Then, I enabled "show miniature-preview" and I could pass windows between workspaces using the top and bottom workspace edges. I'm not sure which bug is being reported here: (1) the desired behavior isn't preserved between reboots, or (2) the preview setting affects logical orientation.
Hi, just wondering if there is any progress on this? I'd be happy to help. (In reply to PaulD from comment #3) > I'm not sure which bug is being reported here: (1) the desired behavior > isn't preserved between reboots, or (2) the preview setting affects logical > orientation. Would option #2 fall under a separate project? If so, I can x-post a bug report with the project in question. Thank you, AGM
Someone please look at this bug!
Yes please. This is still happening on Debian 10.1
Is there a command we could run at startup as a quick fix?
