I've been using gnome-terminal and konsole for a while and just upgraded to Ubuntu studio so I've made my first contact with xfce4 and so I have the problem now that when slightly transparent background is used, and there are more than 20 ansi control sequences on the screen (color codes usually) like with 'ls --color' in a directory like /usr/bin - the reponse time of the input device slows way down, and allows a keypress per second or less.. Without ANSI sequences on the screen (ie, ls --color=never -C /usr/bin) 

This only happens SOMETIMES however. Other times it runs just fine. It is very strange but seems to be toggled by something. I wouldnt call this a big bug but when it happens it is crippled to the point that I have to switch to another terminal emulator. Now, as of yet, ive not installed anything other than gnome-terminal in this new install of Ubuntu Studio 13.04 x86_64, so that should give you something to go on as it is not caused by poor software management or anything. I'm using the opensource AMD/Ati drivers for radeon X1950 and run at 1280x1024 60hz 32bpp -ish resolution, the mobo is a ho-hum dual core intel processor with ho-hum features like sata, ide, and other dumdums.. nothing to write home about. I am submitting this bug as a FYI more than a 'fix it now' in case others have this problem so perhaps if developers have this problem in the future they'll know to keep an eye out for it (even if the bug report gets deleted at least they will have seen it). I'm not one to deviate and try to install backports, so I am not sure if 0.6.2 also has this. If I find anything else out I'll let you know.
