Change .desktop icon from gtk-network to folder-remote
Status:
RESOLVED: MOVED

folder-remote is part of the fd.o spec, which would make it look better in freedesktop compliant themes.

gigolo.desktop: Icon=folder-remote

I find that the icon is still showing like a 'wifi' icon both in the system tray/about box/window taskbar.

So i downloaded the code, and recompiled myself. Not too difficult in Xubuntu 15.10 once you've downloaded the dependencies (gtk 2 specifically etc).

Common.c line 40

icon_name = gigolo_find_icon_name("gtk-connect", "gtk-network");

gtk-connect is better for me. replace with whatever you want.
