This is probably linked to xfce4-volumed, rather than the mixer applet.

It would be great to have a configurable option to enable plop sounds on volume changes, like in Gnome. I think they also have that in KDE.

Anyway, this is a low priority request.

Hi beloved XFCE developpers ;)

Just for info, I made a patch for Pulse Audio Applet that does that. Also uploaded a package in AUR repo.
