After some Nvidia-settings manipulations and saving to xorg.conf, when I logout-login to XFCE, all my settings (styles, icons, colors, fonts, shortcuts) are lost; I am logged to a "basic" light-grey theme.

I took my .config/xfce4 folder as a backup and deleted it completely; now when I relogin I see a normal "post-install" theme but still all my panel settings, shortcuts etc are not there. (of course)

I tried to restore file by file from my backup and I locate the problem to ~/xfce4-back/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/displays.xml .
