i am using xfce, and love it. when opening the downloaded files' containing folder from browsers (chromium, firefox), the Thunar was launched, but it only open that folder does not focus to the file i selected.
thunar does support it, but not the proper standard. This will be changed in a newer version. Closing for the time being...
i finally found the clever implementation in kde_base/dolphin did some investigation on chrom source code, the browser directly call to the xdg-open tool, the xdg-open then open the associate program. the dolphin has a command line option --select that can handle a passing file uri open up the containing folder and focus to the file. this feature looks need to modify all the parts of browser source, xdg-open, and the filemanagers.
