I noticed that elements in ncurses interfaces are always kind of "shifted" in xfce4-terminal.
This doesn't happen on other terminals. It happens on both of my ArchLinux computers.

Please look at the screenshot attached to see what I mean.

Works fine here (also arch), are you sure this is not a font issue?

Looks like a font issue indeed.  Just FYI: Vte-3 (see bug 11207) doesn't take the line drawing chars from the font, but draws them manually instead, to avoid all these kinds of issues.

Seems to have been resolved by migrating to vte3.
