Description stephan roolvink 2005-01-31 20:08:58 CET
after finding the keythemerc file I added yet an other keybinding because the
program won't let me add any more, this quite bogis because when adding shorts
for the normal kays I already have the need for 11 binds, why is it that I can
only add 10 keybindings for commands and not more?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. binding al keys
2. wanting to add more keybindings
3.

Actual Results:
I can make 10 keybindings and then no more

Expected Results:
given me the possibility to add even more key bindings

Olivier, can this be closed (denied) or are you considering implementing more
keybindings?
Comment 2 Markus Vuori 2005-03-28 15:34:37 CEST
More keybindings really should be implemented. Definitely 10 is not enough.

Absolutely, but not in the window manager.

Where then? If I need to start frequently used apps (such as terminal), control
volume, mpd etc via shortcuts is there some alternative? Of course I could
revert to openbox. ;P
Comment 5 Olivier Fourdan editbugs 2005-03-28 20:36:04 CEST
There is a need for a general purpose shortcut manager, requesting more key
shortcut in the window manager is not the solution.

As for reverting to whatever other window manager, I really don't care about
what you use, feel free to run whatever you want, including windows if you wish.
Comment 6 Markus Vuori 2005-03-29 14:54:21 CEST
OK ok. I really don't care whether you want to call it a shortcut manager or
think it as a part of window manager.

(<flame>And if you care about xfce and it's future it means you care about
users' opinions. Afaik users with their wishes and bugreports constitute a
valuable resource for oss developers and they are potential future developers,
too. If you don't care you shouldn't be called an "xfce developer", sorry.</flame>)
