Mouse wheel focuses window
Status:
RESOLVED: WONTFIX

Description chewi 2004-12-20 23:27:04 CET
In previous versions of XFCE, you could use the mouse wheel on a window in the
background and it would scroll without focusing. This no longer happens. The
window now focuses, sending the windows in front to the background. This is
particularly annoying when I have a chat window in the foreground and am trying
to read a web page in the background at the same time. There is an option to
turn off "click to focus" but I don't want to disable it altogether. I just
want it to be disabled for the mouse wheel. I think the old behaviour makes
more sense, don't you?

Yeah, I think I'd prefer scrolling to not raise windows as well.

raise_with_any_button=false

    Add this line to your xfwm4rc file if you want to raise a window only when
clicked with the left mouse button.

PS: The file is $HOME/.config/xfce4/xfwm4/xfwm4rc

The option mentionned earlier gives just what you want, the old behaviour and
it's all documented in the Help screens :)
