in terminal 0.2.10, if I open let's say 5 terminal tabs, go to the second one (alt+2) - it works - but if I close that tab (ctrl+d) - then the third tab does not become seconds as far as the alt+$num keys are concerned - the only way to choose it, is to click it with the mouse, because alt+2 does nothing - and alt+3 goes to the next tab.

in 0.2.8.3 it works as expected.

I'm using gentoo x86_64 as well as arch linux x86_64 - the bug is reproducible on both distributions with the 0.2.10 version.
