Description Yves-Alexis Perez editbugs 2008-10-02 05:38:41 CEST
Hi,

a Debian user reported issues between xfwm4 and openarena. This was due to the patch for #3849 which I added to our stable package.

He cooked a patch which seems to work for him (but leads to problem with the screensaver).

Could you comment on his patch? (mailing 483070@bugs.debian.org for example, or else I can lead him to this bug report).

Cheers,

Why opening two bugs for the same problem? Why not replying to my last message in bug #3849 in the first place?

I do not know what patch you took and what not, please check against either latest code from xfce_4_4 branch or even better trunk.

This is not really the same problem. Well, maybe, but I don't know enough about compositing to be sure. #3849 is correctly fixed by the patch.

The patch I use is taken from svn r26691. Last I checked, I included all patches from 4.4.2 to xfce_4_4 branch.

I'll point the user on this bug report, but having to switch to xfce 4.6 alpha or even svn trunk is not really something easy to do for end user.

This is the same issue. You picked a partial fix, from a WIP at the time.

No, precisely, as already mentioned in this comment of bug #3849:

Seems to me that you are chasing a bug that was fixed in svn because you did not get the complete fix. Please apply:

Also please note that I am not telling you or the user to switch to 4.6, as the fix was also committed in the xfce_4_4 branch (the given patch is for 4.4)

Ok, sorry for this mess. The patch proposed by my user was taken from the xfce_4_4 branch, and it sures fixes his problem.

Thanks for your time,
