all terminals open centre screen: regression on 4.2

I am generally very pleased with the new xfce but one feature has regressed.

I have a launcher on the panel to open a terminal, 4.2 had an almost psychic way of knowing exactly where I wanted to put the window. It always found a well placed bit of unoccupied space, I hardly ever needed to move the window.

beta2 just opens everything screen centred and I _always_ need to move the window. A great shame.

thanks for the great work though.

I have to agree that the current default for the placement threshold is less optimal. Sure one can easily change that (Window Manager Tweaks -> Placement), but it's not really easy to figure out.

well I'm really happy you told me because I would never have guessed. I even went throught that tab yesterday and did not realise what it was about.

Anyway I'm glad this excellent feature has not disappeared.

May I suggest setting the default threashold of the slider so that the old quarter-screen terminal does trigger smart placement.

That way users who know 4.2 will get the same behaviour they're used to and new users will see this nice feature rather than the less helpful, middle of the screen, default.

Glad it was so easy to fix here. Thanks for the speedy reply.
