1) on a flash drive appearing as "myFlash" in the tree, create a folder "testFolder" 2) create 2 files in $HOME: "tobeDeleted.txt" "tobeMoved.txt" 3) to move "tobeMoved.txt", right-click it, then left-click the "+" to unfold the view of "myFlash", right-click "testFolder", select "Paste into folder" - done moving. At this point, two items in Thunar are colorized with the same "selected" background colour: a) "testFolder" on "myFlash" b) "tobeDeleted.txt" in $HOME, because it sat right on top of "tobeMoved.txt" 4) the next keyboard shortcuts will go to "testFolder" on "myFlash", but this is not obvious. I think, "tobeDeleted.txt" in $HOME should NOT be auto-selected after 3)
Related (maybe): Thunar - selection is lost after copying/moving files, https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?pid=48151 Basically, when one pastes files inside a directory some file managers (e.g. Nautilus) select the files that have just been pasted. Thunar instead just pastes the files and "loses track" of them among the others that were already in the directory. I think Nautilus' behaviour is more practical.
(In reply to nordschleife from comment #1) It IS related, but quite different ... Whereas https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?pid=48151 is about copying only, and everything happens in the main window, my case concerns items copied OR moved from the main window to the tree. In case of copying to "Dir" in the tree, I can assure you that "file1" and "file2" look (!) like they still ARE selected - as will look (!) the next-in-line in case of moving. Which is exactly the bug that I meant ... Because - if I then press Shift + Del, it's not the files that are sent to oblivion, but "Dir" That one did NOT ONLY LOOK selected - it was selected by RightClicking for "paste into Folder"
For clarification, I made a GIF now, uploaded it to https://i.imgur.com/ZelnHDd.gifv "myFlash" is "lyx" there
