It would be nice to have a way to get one-shot weather for a specific location, since the plugin has all the plumbing for this.. sometimes, you just want to check the weather for somewhere only once :) i was thinking of a right-click menu item like "forecast for" or "search location", calling the location search widget relying on nominatim service, asking the user for a location, and then displaying the forecast window for that location... is that something that was already requested ? Hard to implement ?

That is a good idea. Probably there will be difficulties with the way the plugin caches and uses data etc., so while the UI part is trivial, the backend stuff is not. Additionally, there will be problems with time calculations (GMT to local). What's more, for the next major version I'd rather spend dev time on gtk3 conversion and adding support for openweathermap. I'll keep this in mind though and try to adapt the UI when rewriting the plugin during the conversion.
